How does tuning work?

Our tunes are built for real truck owners—people who tow, haul, or drive their rig every day. They're clean, reliable, and built in-house by pros who know what they're doing. No racing nonsense, just solid performance and better fuel economy.

For the 6.6L LML Duramax, this means a tune built around eliminating DPF regen cycles, EGR soot buildup, and DEF system faults - the three failure points that define the 2011-2016 Silverado and Sierra ownership experience.

You give us the basics (VIN, make, model, and any mods), and we build a custom tune that fits your truck like a glove. Once it’s in, say goodbye to DEF headaches and warning lights. You’ll be ready to tow with confidence—and it’s all included, no extra fees.


What Does the Device Do?

The tuner plugs into your OBD-II port and loads your custom tune. It also lets you check performance, run diagnostics, and keep your truck dialed in.

Transmission tuning for the Allison 1000 is included. This tune optimizes shift points and line pressure specifically for the Allison fitted to your 2011-2016 Silverado or Sierra, improving long-term reliability under towing conditions and resulting in better fuel economy.

Both tuners are popular and considered among the best in the industry. They deliver similar performance results, but there are a few major differences:

1. Monitoring

EZ Lynk lets you use your smartphone as a digital gauge display through the free AutoAgent app. Keep an eye on important engine and transmission data right from your phone while you're driving.

EFI Live does not include built-in monitoring. If you want to view live truck data, you'll need a separate monitor such as an Edge CTS.

2. Installation & Power Levels

EZ Lynk comes ready to go with your tunes already loaded. Just plug it into your truck's OBD-II port, connect through the AutoAgent app, and you're ready to tune. It also includes 5 shift-on-the-fly power levels.

EFI Live requires the tune files to be loaded onto the device using a Windows computer before installation. It also offers 5 shift-on-the-fly power levels, but takes a few extra steps to get everything set up.

3. Return to Stock

Need to put your truck back to stock? EZ Lynk lets you restore the factory calibration directly from the device whenever you need to.

With EFI Live, returning to stock requires reflashing the ECM with the appropriate factory calibration file.

Which One Should You Choose?

Again, both EZ Lynk and EFI Live deliver the same performance results. The main difference comes down to convenience and price.

If you're willing to spend a little extra for a faster, simpler installation process, EZ Lynk is the recommended option.

If you'd rather save some money, EFI Live is a great choice. The installation process takes a bit longer than EZ Lynk, but you'll get the same end result and performance.

EFI Live does not come preloaded. Once you receive your EFI Live tuner, we'll email you your custom tune files. You'll then need to install the free EFI Live V8 software on your computer and transfer the tune files to your EFI Live device before tuning your truck.

Both EZ Lynk and EFI Live come with shift-on-the-fly tuning and the required switch cables, allowing you to switch between 5 power levels in real time.

EZ LYNK POWER LEVELS

Level 1 – Stock: No added HP. Ideal for daily driving and towing.

Level 2 – +50 HP: Ideal for daily driving and towing.

Level 3 – +75 HP: Ideal for daily driving and towing.

Level 4 – +100 HP: Ideal for performance applications.

Level 5 – +150 HP: Ideal for performance applications.

EFI LIVE POWER LEVELS

Both EZ Lynk and EFI Live come with custom delete tunes built specifically for your truck.

After placing your order, you'll receive a form to fill out with your truck's information, including the VIN, make, model, and year.

With EZ Lynk, we preload your custom tune onto the device before shipping it out. When it arrives, simply plug it into your truck and you're ready to go.

With EFI Live, your custom tune files will be emailed to you and you'll need to download them onto the device. Don't worry—we've got your back. Our team will guide you through the installation process and provide support before, during, and after the install.

Important: Make sure to select the correct model year for your truck. 2011–2015 and 2015.5–2016 LML Duramax trucks require different tune files due to the mid-cycle emissions system update.

We process and ship all orders within 1-2 business days to all U.S. states. Once shipped, delivery typically takes 5-8 business days, depending on your location.

The kit is very easy to install. It usually takes about 4 to 8 hours, depending on how handy you are, but most of our customers do it themselves without any problems.

The EZ Lynk tuning device takes only about 4 minutes to install since it's completely plug-and-play.

The EFI Live device requires loading the tune files onto the programmer using a computer, so the setup process typically takes about 40 minutes.
