How are we able to provide tuning for free? The tuning map is created once and then adjusted based on each customer’s needs. For example, if a customer has made modifications in the past or wants something unique, we customize the tune accordingly. This process is the same regardless of where you buy the tune. As a company, we thought, “Why should we charge for something that doesn’t cost us much to produce each time?” It’s 100% possible to offer it for free, so why not do something different? Isn’t that the whole purpose of a company?

Tuning involves adjusting your vehicle's engine control unit (ECU) to enhance performance, fuel efficiency, or other preferences. It can modify the way your engine performs by changing settings like fuel/air ratios, ignition timing, and turbo pressure.

How We Build the Advanced Custom Tune for You

When you get started with us, we’ll ask for a few details about your truck—like the VIN, make, model, and any unique setups. With that info, our tuning pros get to work, building a custom tune specifically for your truck. We’re talking about maximizing horsepower and torque and ditching those emissions system limits entirely. So, once it’s installed, no more dealing with DEF, no more annoying emissions lights popping up on your dash, and you’ll be able to tow some serious loads with confidence.

And here’s the best part: this whole process is all part of our service. No extra fees and we are the only company doing that.

What does the tuning device do?

The tuning device connects to your vehicle's OBD-II port and communicates with the ECU. It allows you to upload custom settings (or “tunes”) to adjust your engine's performance. These devices also allow for data logging, diagnostics, and monitoring of engine performance.

Don’t worry about handling the installation yourself—we take care of it all! To ensure your EFI Live delete tuner operates smoothly, please make sure your computer or laptop meets the following minimum requirements for our remote installation service:

• Software: EFI Live Scan & Tune Software V8, which we’ll install for you. (Available as a free download from the EFI Live website.)
• Operating System: A PC or laptop running Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, or 11 is required. Unfortunately, Mac and Linux systems are not compatible.
• Connectivity: One available USB port for connecting the EFI Live tuner to your computer.
• Display: A standard monitor or laptop screen is recommended.
• Storage: At least 1GB of free hard drive space is required.

Please note that delete tunes are not preloaded onto the EFI Live device. We will send them to you and arrange a meeting to install everything for you. A Windows 7+ computer is required, and Macs and older PCs are not compatible.

Monitoring

The EZ Lynk connects to your smartphone via the AutoAgent app, allowing you to use your phone as a dashboard monitor to track multiple parameters at once. In contrast, EFI Live doesn’t have any built-in monitoring capabilities. However, you can buy an Edge Monitor and use it after we install the tune to track your truck’s performance.

Preloaded Tunes & Power Settings

EZ Lynk comes with preloaded delete tunes, making setup quick and easy, especially if you're not very experienced with electronic devices. Simply plug it into your truck's OBDII port and manage the system through the free AutoAgent app. It also includes 5 power levels, along with Hiss and Rumble tunes.

With EFI Live, the delete tunes are not preloaded. Instead, we’ll send them to you and set up a meeting where you can give us access to your computer via AnyDesk. We’ll install the tune in EFI Live and flash your truck for you, ensuring everything is set up correctly. EFI Live offers 4 power settings.

Factory Reset

With the EZ Lynk, you can easily return your truck to its factory settings using the device, which is useful if you need to reinstall the emissions system. EFI Live, however, does not offer this feature. If you decide to restore your truck's ECM to its original settings, you’ll need to visit a dealership to have it flashed back to factory configuration.

The EZ Lynk and SCT X4 come with custom delete tunes.

After your purchase, you'll receive a form to fill out with the required information (such as VIN, year, make, and model). Once we receive this information, we will process your custom tune within 2-3 days.

We will ship your Ez lynk with the tunes ready to be installed. Once you install the Ez Lynk to your truck and go through the set up process, your tunes will appear under the ECU profiles.

Transmission tuning included for 68RFE transmissions.

We process and ship all orders within 1-3 business days to all U.S. states. Once shipped, delivery typically takes 3-5 business days, depending on your location. You will receive a confirmation email with a tracking number once your order has been dispatched. Please note that delivery times may vary slightly due to carrier schedules or external factors beyond our control.

Don’t worry—we’ve got you covered! If you’re unsure about installing EFILive, we’ll handle everything for you. Once you receive your device, just send us the device serial number (usually located on the back). After that, we’ll create your custom tune within 24 hours or less and notify you via email when it’s ready.
